How can I buy tickets?

Ticket purchase will be available at the event and online. Advance tickets can be purchased online through April 30 for just $150 per person, $100 of which is tax deductible, and for the first time this year, we're offering a discount if you bring a friend. Purchase a pair of tickets for $275 ($175 tax deductible), a $25 savings. After April 30, individual tickets may be purchased at the event for $175 each ($350 for a pair).

Is my ticket to the event tax deductible?

Yes, however, only a portion of the ticket price is tax deductible. The IRS requires us to inform you of any items of substantive value that you will receive in return for your gift. The benefit received in return for your ticket purchase is valued at $50 per individual ticket. The amount varies for patrons and sponsors. See ticket purchase page for details.

How can I become a sponsor or patron?

Sponsorship and patron packages range in price from $25K to just $500, all of them including Gala tickets, access to a pre-event "Winner's Circle" party, and a wide variety of advertising and recognition as outlined on the sponsorship page. The Title, Racetrack and Triple Crown sponsorships also include player spots for the Play with a Purpose golf outing at Governors Club's members-only course on Monday, May 7, 2012

How do I find directions to the Gala?

Driving directions are available on the Governors Club website.

What do I wear to the Run for the Promise Gala?

Dress for the event is "dressy casual." Think sundresses and seersucker suits. And you'll want to wear comfortable shoes for playing lawn games and partaking in all the Gala has to offer!

What about the hats?

The Kentucky Derby is well-known for the couture hats worn by the ladies at Churchill Downs. So, yes, wear a hat if you're so inclined.

Will you cancel the event due to inclement weather?

The event is tented and will be held rain or shine. The Clubhouse at Governors Club offers plenty of elegant indoor space should we experience wet weather.

What is your tax ID number?

The N.C. Children's Promise, benefiting N.C. Children's Hospital, is a program of the Medical Foundation of N.C., Inc., the charitable, tax-exempt organization supporting the overall goals of UNC Health Care and the UNC School of Medicine.
