Wesley and Jan Burks invite you to attend the 2013 Run for the Promise Gala, benefiting N.C. Children’s Hospital. Dr. Wesley Burks is the Physician-in-Chief of North Carolina Children's Hospital and Chairman of the UNC Department of Pediatrics. Jan is an attorney and recently retired from her position with the federal government. The Arkansas natives live in Chapel Hill and have three children, Chris, who is married to Haley, and two daughters, Sarah and Collin.
Dr. Burks is an internationally-renowned expert in food allergies. He is leading the department and N.C. Children's Hospital with a new strategic plan to grow clinical programs, expand research and encourage collaboration and excellence in teaching. This year's "fund the fun" project will help N.C. Children's Hospital continue its excellence in patient and family-centered care with a renovation to the front lobby to create a more welcoming and kid-friendly atmosphere.
